- Peer Training Network
The Peer Training Network is comprised of people who are engaged in some aspect of child welfare training—some members are trainers, some are curriculum writers, some manage training, some are academics—many do a little bit of everything. Network participants are folks interested in learning from each other, sharing ideas and materials, and joining discussions on various child welfare training topics.
This network offers many opportunities for you to connect with child training experts across the country who share your interest in improving the lives of children and families through effective training.
As part of the Peer Training Network, the NRCOI sponsors a quarterly call series focusing on child welfare training. Over the course of the last year, participants discussed such topics as new hire training models , supervisory training curricula, training evaluation approaches and other 'hot training topics' suggested by participants, such as pay rates, trainer conduct policies and knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). What KSAs do new workers need to bring to the job? What must be covered in new worker training and what can be covered later?
