About UsStaff and Consultants

Your job is to help children and families. Our job is to help you.

Our mission is to support organizations committed to the welfare of children, youth and families and help them achieve better systemic outcomes.

We are one of seven national resource centers (NRCs) funded by the Children’s Bureau (CB), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to provide free, on-site training and technical assistance (T/TA) to State and Tribal child welfare agencies.

Through training, technical assistance, research and evaluation we help agencies improve management and operations, expand organizational capacity and promote service integration. We focus T/TA in six primary areas, including:

In our National T/TA Network coordination role
we facilitate, coordinate and evaluate all on-site T/TA for the Children’s Bureau T/TA Network. In this role, we can:

  • help State and Tribal agencies identify and contact appropriate NRCs to define and meet their T/TA needs;
  • coordinate on-site T/TA as multiple NRCs and AdoptUsKids respond to requests; and
  • evaluate the impact of on-site T/TA.

The Resource Center is a part of the Edmund S. Muskie School of Public Service, at the University of Southern Maine.
